Whistling X5 ???
 Is this normal?  My X5 makes a whistling noise from the engine compartment during acceleration. No difference when engine is hot or cold. The local dealer claimed it’s caused by carbon build up on the plastic intake. They told me it can be cleaned but will eventually return. X is a pre-owned ’03 3.0i and has hade this whistle since I purchased it last August. I appreciate any feedback.
