X5 4.4i 19" STock wheels

I have front size 255 45 19" inches rim and rear size 285 35 19" inches. I am thinking of replace the rear tire with size 295 35 19" or 315 35 19". Anyone has done this before? Will it improve any handling ?

the sizes are already staggered you'll increase the understeer even more with a bigger rear tire.

Question is why would you do that I doubt you'll notice the visual or road handling differences under normal driving conditions with the 295's. I think you'll have to calculate the width/height ratio cause something tells me 315/35/19 won't fit.

You have the wrong tyre set up at the moment! You should have 255/50 +285/45!

You wheel arch gap must look enormous?(especially on the rear!)

Your speedo reading will be up to 7% wrong!

You also have your X5 31 mm lower on the rear than on the front?Your front rolling diametre on those tyres is 713 mm ,your rear 682 mm!This normally affects your ABS readings !

295/35/19 will increase your rolling diametre to 689 mm and 313/35 will give you 704 mm but may be too wide for your wheel!
In all cases you are far off the 737 mm oem rolling diametre!
