Tire Setup

Hi all,

I am planing to get 19" replicas for my 02 3.0i. I currently have 4 255/55/19 good year tires which have been taken off from a Range Rover. I want to use the replicas with those tires. When I went to the shop to get the replicas the guy told me to make sure if I can use all 4 tires same size. Because I was going to get all 9" wide rims all around instead of getting 10" on the backs and 9" on the fronts.

Does anyone tried that? Do you think that would cause any problems? Thank you.

Some of the bigger engined models had wider tires/rims on the back. You should be OK.

Those tyres off the RR are ideally suited to 9" wheels,so you are ok there.

However, the oem tyre on the 9 " wheel is 255/50/19.By fitting the 255/55 you will be riding 26mm higher than standard which also means that you will get a 3.52% error in your speedo reading.

On the plus side, your wheelarch gap will shorten ,thus giving your car a lowered look.
