I have the carbon fiber trim in my silver X5 with black interior I went with modicoat the same place where janix went. http://modicoat.com/id41.htm

when i was looking around at getting the carbon fiber i wanted quality as well as price and i got both with these folks. I initially sent a couple of emails to John at Modicoat and told him what i wanted , he was already familiar with this project being that Janix had done a similar project. I told him how many pieces i wanted done and which pattern of weave i wanted and he gave me an estimate of the price and the shipping.
I was able to find someone selling the X5 wood trim kit on ebay for a reasonable price. I also purchased the door handles since they are prone to peeling and the M steering wheel trim and had them done in carbon fiber also..
I sent the wood trim kit and the door handles to Modicoat. The turn around was about 3 weeks from time of shipment and after installing the new trim i sold my light polar trim on ebay

The quality is excellent it looks and feels original, it looks much better in person, and the guys at the dealer takes a liking to it each time i go in for service or parts.

So all together i spent around $600 out of pocket plus shipping , not bad considering what AC Schnitzer which is around $2500, and the other place wants around $1900

I wouldn't put fake CF on any bmw let alone X5.

You guys should check out www.fiber-design.net

They do custom real CF wrapping.

When I checked with Fiber Design back last year they charged 1500$ to coat my existing OEM trim (ie 1500$ + the price for a second set of trim pieces if you didn't want to use your OEM ones) .
Their work looks very good , just too steep of a price at the time.

I think FIber-design can do it for quite cheaper now.
