Please DO NOT send each other the link to the PDF file. If you are a customer and request the install guide simply email [email protected] and we would be happy to help out. Thanks for your cooperation.

OK. Email sent.
If I'd received it with my order, I wouldn't have asked.
I've logged in on the site & also checked my emails re: the order, but to no avail... No hard feelings, k?

An Update for any interested:
Started the bake (thankful for the double-wall oven we installed!) but when the smell (OMG It's rank) overpowered even the oven's internal fans, I decided to put it off to a time my kids won't be breathing that stuff in within the hour. Pretty pungent stuff- better for a day with an empty house, so I'll plan accordingly-
BTW, JLevi, thanks for stopping by above, but these three purchasers of your DDEs would love some pointers on wiring. Any help would be appreciated, including sending the install manual that I haven't received after requesting it yesterday. Many Thanks.
Last, the X5 goes in for her Insp II tomorrow (with her original halogen lights unmodded that I've left in so far), so I'm hoping that'll answer any questions about the transmission light coming on/off last week, as well as get her generally checked out & tuned/tweaked.

The post above was from Nick He does sales and support.

Those of you who need wiring help please send us specific questions to [email protected]
There are a couple of reasons for this:
-Weeding through the forums to find questions that may or not be directed to us is not the best use of Nick's time, when he can be answering emails
-Typically if people are directing their questions to us, they will call or email
-If we post an answer, it may be specific to a certain model or certain configuration or version of the product. For example, if I tell you "run the solid red wire to the + terminal" and someone with an older version of the kit reads that, they will cause severe damage - because they were following a post that wasn't directed to their specific car or product. It's like your doctor posting "Mike, if you want that to clear up, take this medicine" - then having Jim come by with symptoms that seem similiar.... and having chaos ensue.

Sorry to be long winded, but the moral of the story is that you should always email us or call in with your questions, and be as specific as you like. We love to help you out and we love to solve problems

Thanks all
JL

Thanks all

That's awesome & very much appreciated.
I'll await the manual & follow up with any other questions via email. If there are any wiring details that are consistent across all X5's, they'd be totally appreciated, but not sure how much that is the case (I know at least one wiring (indicator lights) changed over between post '03, but if all else remains the same to date, perhaps an X5 wiring manual could be done by someone as they go through it? When I get there, I'll do my best to prep at least something in the way of pics & details if all works out. Anyways, Hoping for the best with the install.

Status Update

Mindfull: So is your project going so far? I have been considering the exact same mod that you are attempting or have already executed for about a year now and finally built up enough courage to attempt it as well. Can you please let us know what your status is on this? We would love to hear from you and view any pics, if any. Thank you much!

Relay Boxes

Hey Zulu ~ I will be interested in the relay box, are you selling them? If so, for how much? I've seen your article for the relay box but sadly enough I am not electrically savvy and even if I were to attempt to build one, I just don't have the tools. Also, I know you (and Mindfull among others) are extremely versed in the halogen to xenon conversion as I have read pretty much all posts and articles around this effort and wanted to ask you how difficult it would be for me to:

1.) Convert my existing 2003 halogens (currently have a 2003 X5 4.4i) to 2002 xenon as I will be swapping the entire H/L system out w/ the 2002 xenon. I know I will have to purchase a pair of ballasts.
2.) If I were to get my hands on the relay box, the effort of installing it.
3.) Installing angel eyes, most likely from JLEVI.
4.) Clearing out the amber

Please advise. BTW: This forum is great, don't know what I would do without it.

I'm not wild about how the lamps look with waffles out and no-paint, but this looks interesting on a X3.
This is exactly what I have been considering doing with my lights - painting the black inside the housing to match the vehicle.
