Couple of old tricks from my days as an engineer.....

Fit the spacer, get a rubber mallet, and strike the spacer hard a couple of times on the horizontal side.... rotate the wheel and smack it again. Quite often when two items are close in tolerance a small amount of surface matter can be dealt with by judicious blows on the side to flatten them.

If after doing this it frees up a little then it will just be a gradual process of working it on.

Secondly, take the spacer off and have a look at the ring hole. Does it have paint blemishes all around the circumference? If there are high spots and they seem to be paint as has already been mentioned then you can file them off pretty easily with a half round file.

If it does, get a marker pen or some bearing blue and colour the hub. Refit the spacer and check for high spots.

As has already been mentioned, if there are no high spots you can deal with I would give the manufacturers a call and ask about the internal diameter, then get yourself a micrometer and measure it, and your hub. Chances are it has to be a pretty snug fit as if it was off centre by much I would think it might cause a balance vibration.

Thirdly, are you 'torque'ing the spacers on by tightening in a pattern and keeping the spacer parallel with the wheel hub? Can't tell from the photos....

Finally, as we used to say, if it don't move, get a bigger hammer!!!!

I'd be careful to have the ability to remove them in case they don't fit after the hammer!! you don't want to trade one problem with another.

Wow, you guys use spacers on a 60-70k car?

I would never trust those things. You strip the bolts on that spacer and those wheels are never coming off.

Agreed, but the point of using the hammer is to knock down surface blemishes rather than to get it on....

I had to use sandpaper to smooth out and scrape off the rust build up around the hub. Once it was clean, the spacer slid right on. But, I have the rogue 15mm ones, not the H&Rs. Good luck.
