Is the size of the wiper blade really important, or how it is used?

you guys are insane. hm 17 5/8 so i'd be safe with a 17 inch blade... dam the dealer put in a new one and it ended up scratching my 3rd brake light lens. i think its time to upgrade to the clear and yell at the dealer about it too GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRr
