Talking funny story

The wife, dog and myself went to the local mart to get some coffee this morning in the middle of a hell of a rainstorm. Vegas (my dog) was asleep in the footwell so my wife and I went into the store for a quick caffeine run and left the car running. At the counter I realize that I left my wallet in the glovebox. Run outside and grab the handle and realize that the door is locked! Vegas had moved to the drivers seat and somehow managed to lock the doors. Dont panic I told myself, just walk her back across and she will hit it again. I walk from one side to the other coaxing her across. She gets soo soooo close, but only succeeds in turning on the hazards and get this... the drivers side seat heater!!! She gives up after about 20 times of across and back and then proceeds to curl up in the drivers seat and fall asleep.

Anyway, long story short. Another guy in a 5 series pulled up and I asked to use his assist button. The assist operator told me to call the fire department and they would slim jim it!?! Are you kidding me?? A slim jim in to my brand new baby?????? He told me the only other option was to wait until the engine cutout and then tow it to the dealer. Are you freaking kidding me?

So, I get a ride from a friendly police officer and climb through an open window at my house to grab my valet key that I should have had in my pocket to begin with.

So... now you all my laugh at my expense

Pretty good story...take that plastic key, put it in a lil'magnetic metal "key box" and tuck up and under the frame somewhere on a protected horizontal surface. Wrap key in Saran Wrap if it makes you feel better. My key has been there since day 2, in 9-01. I check to make sure it's ok, about twice a year. It has not moved and its fine. Even some azzhole reading this could not find it, from working off the ground, in an hour or three. GL,md
