Cat Converter Noise

Terrible rattling noise with cold run, I blv in my cat converter/resonator?
Has any one had this problem?
If I change the converter does it help power although I see no appreciable loss in power yet but I read some posts and I gather it can affect power adversely.

Noise clears a bit when engine is hot though

Any comments from any one?

How do you know it's your cat problem? Engine code? If that 's the case you better had it change in heart beat before damage the engine. When your cat rattle means it's disintegrating and it will back up to your engine.
