Not sure if this applies to the X, but from what I remember with my 325 wagon, any car that was pre 2002 had a different stereo that did not have the AUX port.
If I remember right, the switch to (or from? cannot remember now) Alpine head-units was when they started offering the aux solution, so you may need to buy a newer head unit before you can get aux in your X. Anyone else? I could be wrong about the X, but this was definitely the case for my 325. Good luck. Rob |

Need to change the radio module in the boot,or,fit a Blitzsafe unit to the cd changer..do a search,theres lots of great threads on it.

you can also use a Dension Gateway 300 w/ CD Retention and get Ipod,Aux and usb

Have you checked for the taped up connector behind the head unit? I have an 01 with 16-9 and it wasn't equipped with the extra connector. Was hoping maybe late production would have included it.
