Dakota Gray with the Anthracite Wood Trim is simply fantastic. It's a well known fact that it's very hard to keep the Gray interior clean. My choice for exterior color will be Stratus Gray because I've never been a big fan of Black. But then again this is just my opinion.

Let us know what you finally decided to get.

Good luck.

I think you are meaning to say "Stratus" as opposed to "Status." Although, a X5 in any color will imply "Status." Maybe our Canadian colors are titled differently.

Seriously, I was always against opting for black on my vehicles purely from a maintenance perspective. I don't like dealing with paint swirls and dirty looking vehicles. That said, I have an Individual Carbon Black exterior and absolutely love it. Yes it is a pain to detail and keep clean, but the look is worth it.

For your two choices, I would recommend you go with your gut. If you plan on reselling this vehicle in a year or two, you might want to lean towards black. I personally like Stratus Grey, maybe not as much as Sterling, but enough to consider it. A very dynamic color in varying lights. The problem being, it seemed to have a slight earthy green tone that may discourage the average buyer. It will be just as prone to swirling as the black, but will likely appear to stay cleaner longer.

As for interior, Grey on Grey would drive me nuts. Too, well,....grey. There is no style, flavour or appeal when the words Grey on Grey are mixed. Plus, that grey plastic on the door/dash panels really is awful. Contrast is essential in all facets of life, especially with automobiles. Have you considered Truffle Brown as an interior choice? This would look excellent over black. All black aside from seats and door inserts. Very luxurious.
