Ok here is my mod list as soon as the x5 comes in 3weeks and counting....

OK before the flames are thrown all mods can be removed and sold if i decide not to keep car at lease end (Stock bumpers and 18's on my sport 4.4)

To do list......
1. 4.8 front bumper
2. 4.8 rear bumper lower skirt and sides
3. 4.8 fender flares.
4. 20's
....Now which replicas to buy, the old style 5stars the 4.6's came with or the 4.8's (Help me choose) the AFS are like $1800 with toyo's on ebay for the 4.6's

5. Sirius Sat radio.(Need my stern fix)

I figure that's around $3500 with installations.......
any comments suggestions or leads to these parts cheap (yeah right )are welcome!

PS the ordered x is a 2006 4.4 sport in silver/black/anthracite trim - nav. -premium package and heated seats (stock 18's with sport package will be for snows)

Are you going down to pick it up? The drive back could be fabulous along I81 or the Blue Ridge Mountains. You really ought to take acouple days and enjoy!

Get the clear bra if the chips on the car bother you, specially around NYC you will get few. Suggest style 128 wheels in 20"; style 87 is classic, I like it, I have it, but lately seems like every body has it. My 2 cents.

Sounds like it's going to be a great looking X! But, with all those 4.8-style mods you're planning, it sounds to me that you'll end up in the same price range as a real 4.8, no? If you go for the 4.8 instead, you'll get OEM wheels, all the other goodies standard, and all you'll need is the Sirius and a set of winters... Either way, best of luck!

I would look at the cost of the 4.8 again, unless you plan on keeping the X5 at the end of the lease, the 4.8 probally will cost less and its a 4.8!

The lease for the 4.8 is about $420 more per mo x 24 = $10,080
The mods are around $3500 but I may be able to get he wheels for free so then it is just the cost of the bumpers.

From what I remember, the residual is a lot lower on a 4.8 than a 4.4 as well. BTW, do you really need to replace the rear bumper? Can't you just install the rear spoiler on the existing one?
