And quickly to the bottom this thread will go. Its amazing. So I am guessing the answer is no.
Any reason, since nobody on the planet has replaced their head? I would like to know what I am missing here before I dig in. |

The biggest thing you miss by replacing the BMW head unit is the ability to control the On Board Computer functions.

On my previous 01 X, I did swapped the OEM head unit for the Alpine CDA-7998. It required the custom cutout to fit in the original slot. But like UCrew said you would lose the onboard computer fncs.I still have the complete system...ams, x-over, subs..etc and I haven't installed them in my current X. Not sure I will.
