Will regular halogens fit the pre-facelift headlight housing w/ the projector lense?

I have found some xenon headlight housings for a pre-facelife model but it doesn't have all the wires, ballasts, etc. So I want to know if I can buy some PIAA 55w bulbs and put those in the xenon projector housings using my existing halogen wiring. Since the PIAAs are good replacement halogens, I would just like use those with the projector housing. Make sense? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. K. Helms

Hmmm, a unique approach. If it helps, the BMW Xenon Retrofit instructions posted here (est time 9 1/2 hours!) are totally over the top. Most folks just get the ballasts (OEMs cost $80-120ea which is more than aftermarkets, but it's worth it b/c of the rubber "boot" on the cable), then wire the lights in- Shouldn't take more than an hour or two at the most. The only other hurdle is the Relay (to avoid error message for missing halogen bulb after xenon upgrade), but Zulu95 posted a clear DIY in Articles.

I can't think of anyone who's done a xenon-to-halogen retrofit to help, for natural reasons. IMO, you'd likely spend the same time just finishing the xenon install without gutting the headlight enclosures. Just my .02.

The halo bulb is not a straight fit. I would wait until you gather what you require. After all you have everything for the halos in your existing lights now.
