Moderator closing Exhaust mod thread

How do you justify closing a thread based on one "poster" assuming the attacking/name calling role? We as a group were continuing to communicate exhaust specs around the distractions yet you assumed a "god like" role and denied us the opportunity to communicate further info. I'm looking for info concerning resonator/muffler removal and now you have eliminated the chance for me to gather info on this. Apparently, you are in the position to justify the deletion on this forum but are not realistic in your decision to deny us the opportunity to discuss this matter. Just because one member relayed views that were against what we as the majority felt, you used your authority to deny us the chance to learn and express. At some point you need to accept your role as a moderator without pushing your personal views on what is acceptable as an adult forum vs. what a teenagers discussion might be for example. We are adults, and contrary to what you feel as a moderator, are capable of interpreting serious or attacking verbiage vs. fun and entertaining conversation. If you truly think our conversation has been so terrible, you need to spend a year in Iraq fighting for this country to realize what a sense of seriousness is all about. To see you close this thread based on the conversation relayed here shows me you have no appreciation for freedom of speech and expression of opinon that I have sacrificed so much for. You are 29 years old, & I'm assuming haven't served for this country. If you would have, you wouldn't be so critical and overbearing when it comes to your position on this forum. Appreciate what so many of us have sacrificed instead of limiting our voice and info requests. Subdue your overbearing realm on this thread and let us discuss what we as responsible adults have chosen to communicate. Consider not deleting this initial thread and responding as the moderator to explain your justification in closing the thread that so many had participated in.

Thanks for the feedback. I have deleted any personal attack posts and re-opened the thread. Hopefully, the thread will remain "on topic".

Lambeau thanks for your service. IMO the moderators have to make a judgement call when it appears a thread is turning into a pointless pissing contest.

SG,
Thanks for going through the thread and deleting the BS in that thread. I locked the thread for the personal attacks. My initial intentions were to go back and clean the thread up and re-open it. I apologize that I did not get to it sooner but my dog had surgery last week and busted open a couple of her stitches. As for Lambeau, I have nothing but respect for the men and women that serve our country and protect our freedom. I wasn't being critical and overbearing, just trying to keep things from getting too out of hand. Since you are fairly new around here, you may not have noticed that we really don't tolerate personal attacks of anyone around here.

I apologize if I offended anyone or an assumed god-like function.

I would also add that, as the original poster of the thread, ekaz had every right to close it. If someone wants to start their own thread to continue the dialog, there's nothing stopping them from doing so as long as there is adherence to our fundamental postion that you can attack ideas but not the individual.
