does anyone know what happened x5 ignition suddenly shut off?

when i was driving on the street last night, it was slow traffic. suddenly my x5 engine off, tried to press gas, no response. don't know what happened? finaly i put the shift to P back, then restart the engine or ignition, then the car back to normal.
anyone know what happened x5 ignition suddenly shut off?
please help??? thanks!!!!

Wow, never heard of that before. Ask the dealer and see what they say. If you have after market remote start or something like that, it may cause electrical issues with complicated BMW electrical system. Good luck.

That has happened to me twice. Both times after slow stop and go traffic. The car just died. It did start up right away though.

I too have experienced this twice. The dealer could not find the problem. A few weeks after my dealer visit, I was poking around under the hood (checkinf fluid levels) and noticed that a canister on the passenger side (under the headlight) had a hose that was disconnected. I popped it back on and I haven't experienced a problem since. I dont know if it was related or not but I just wanted to share my experience.

One more note: I have no mods on my car. It is completely factory.

happened once with my 04 and I didn't really think nothing of it. Until it happens again, is when I take it in to get checked. But I figured the dealer will most likely say they couldn't find anything wrong anyways.

x5 ignition

For all the guys just for info try to check your fuel filter it's located under neat fwd of rear left tire and might replaced it too.You need too removed one panel to access it.
