auto-on headlight function

My x is MY2000 and it did not come with the function of auto-on headlight. Is it possible to add this function into my x? Is it useful? Thanks!

I'm sure if you throw enough $$$ at it you can get it installed. Nothing is impossible as long as you say "I don't care what it cost, I want it!"

To retrofit this you would need to install an updated wiring harness to the vehicle and replace the windshield (that's where the sensor is located). Is it handy to have? sure. Is it worth it to retrofit? Not in my opinion

I do have auto-on function, but I don't really use it.
I just turn on and off the headlights by myself.

Same here - I don't like the headlights coming on when I start the car in the garage in the daytime only to have them turn on a few seconds later when I pull out. I use auto all the time at night for the dynamic adjustment feature when cornering. If I stop somewhere at night, I just leave the switch on auto; other than that, I always turn the headlights off when I pull into the garage.

I never use the auto headlights. I don't know, I just put the headlights on without even thinking about it. Why use the automatic feature and undo an action that comes natural. It's like speed dial. You rely on it and then can't remember a number when you need to. I sound like my father...OMG when did that happen

The cheap way is to buy an aftermarket kit for Ford/GM and make it fit. I saw a Ford truck one on the web with everything including the sensor for around $80.
