Spare Key

Hi!

Went to the dealer last week to order a spare key. I was told, I have to wait 20 days and pay 50% of the total price, aprox. $600!!!!

Do you guys, know if I can order a spare key from any other place? let's say Crevier......

Call a few dealers, Crevier and others may provide better prices.

I suspect most legit dlrs will not "do a new key" from
a phone call: most will want to see ID, registration, etc.,
in person.

Your situ sounds like its based on your location and your
local stlr knows he has you by daballz.

Buena suerte, mi amigo.

$600 is way too high a price for the key, I believe. I got a spare key a couple of months ago and the price was around $130.00 for the normal key with integrated door / rear hatch lock/unlock functions. Also got the BMWCCA discount.

WOW! Don't know where to get a new one, but I was charged only $200 when I returned my car from lease with only one key. They even dropped the charge because of the low mileage.

Yeah, 130-200 $USD tops...but he's in Lima and
I suspect the stlr smells blood and profit.

He might want to contact whatever BMW group
"covers" South America, eg, BMW SA or whatever.

Time in Lima is definitely a bit slower than in the USA. It is actually fascinating to experience.
