WTF! Canadian 4.8is without roof rails.

I build a 4.8 on Canadian BMW website and this is the pic they show. Since when did they started this? Does anyone know?

Interesting - I kinda like the look - maybe even better w/o headlight washers....

Not sure when they started it, or even if they did. The detailed specs still list roof rails for the various models, including the 4.8. It is just the photo that doesn't have rails. I am not sure how much faith we should put in the person maintaining the web site, for details that specific.

Having said that, the M-Sport touring models (530xiT, etc) have the roof rails deleted as part of the M-Sport package in Canada.

In The UK they can be deleted as an option.

If you look under the compare models on the canadian website that you linked to - they list roof rails as standard on all models.

As above probably oversight by webpage designer.

Or its pyschological as they are running short of roof rails!

Web developer used stock pictures of the Euro model with the roof rails deleted. Note the Euro plates.

In Canada you can also get the 530XiT wagon with the M Sport package - comes std w/o roof rails. VERY slick looking car! (Build on on line and you will see).

Wish BMWUSA would bring the M Sport package here - it really transforms the look of the E60

You can't buy the M-Sport package for the 530xiT in the US, but you can buy the M Aero kit, which is the same body package. You can't see it on the web site, as it is installed at the delivery centre (or locally). Also, you apparently can't include it in a lease price. To upgrade it to the full M-Sport package you would have to buy the door sills, steering wheel, and road wheels separately. Still, you can get the look you were commenting on.
