New Member; New X5
Well, it took a while, but I finally decided for an X5. Got delivery of the new baby 3 days ago; already convinced of a great choice.

This one's a 3.0d (with gas at 1.4€/litre- about 7usd/gallon...; diesel costing about 30% less of that, and consumption being almost half.. makes diesel a no-brainer option around these parts..) good power and gobs of torque. Will most likely go for the tunit box, to get things really moving.

Local BMW sells this model as an "exclusive" edition; basically a Sport edition plus a few more goodies like Dakota leather, Sunroof, Hifi spks., etc. Tire&wheel setup are the 132's; 19", 255 frt/285 rear. These plus the sport suspension do make it a pretty harsh ride (Euro-spec sport suspensions are know to be stiffer than US-spec) but great for the many curves I have to go through daily.

Looking forward to a great and long relationship with this and hopefully other X5's to come!

Love the titan trim and the euro headlights...

Also pretty sweet that you got a diesel. Which diesel motor is it though? The old 3.0 or the new?

Is the roof usually black on grey interiors?

Edit: Its the old diesel engine, which is still very impressive. 231 bhp & 500 Nm of torque !!

it's the 218hp/500Nm version; the older (pre-facelift) version was 184hp

I was thinking of the new retuned engine in the 330d, which gets 10 more hp...

Really like the euro gauges. They are so simple and clean!

yup, both the new 330d and 530d get the same engine, but with injection remapped to squeeze 231hp.. even sweeter would be the an X5 diesel with the engine from the 535d; basically the same 3.0-litre, with 2 turbos; putting out 270hp and incredible amounts of torque..
