The X5 went like a dream. No problems at all. Cruised at 110mph on the French motorways, went semi off-roading also. The tunit box performed amazingly giving loads of top end power, which made over taking a dream. At one point the micro road pilot (speed camera detector) read 135 mph - which is very accurate (GPS based) the speedo read a little more (almost 140 - well within tolerance). Not bad for a car that is only supposed to go 124mph or so. Obviously, this is down to the tunit box. The engine preffered to cruise at about 95mph - didn't seem strained at all and left lots of extra go for the occasional overtaking. First time I have really had a good opportunity to use cruise control and it worked really well. Car is in at BMW tomorrow to get new wheels - the 168's. Will post some picks later in the week.

I love the 168's ... but they told me here (France) that I need the sport package. Is this true ?

Wow - great road trip! I guess if you're cruising at 100 mph, it's not heard to rack up so many miles in such a short period. Glad to hear it was an enjoyable experience.
