King is on a distinguished road
X5 got towed away yesterday!

So I was on the ramp trying to merge into the highway traffic, which was going smoothly at about 100km/hr. As I merge in, about 2 cars behind was an unmarked cop car which quickly caught up to me and started flashing his lights. I proceed to the shoulder and pulled over.

The cop asks for my license & reg., saying I was doing 110 in an 80 zone. I told him I was just merging into on-coming traffic. Looking at my registration, he says both my registration & insurance had expired over a month ago. I told him I should have the new slip at home. (I had taken everything out of the car when I got it detailed.) The sticker on my plate was current, I just didn't have the registration card on me!

He went back to his cruiser to run a check. Came back 10 mins later and handed me 3 tickets. $280 for speeding, $175 for failing to produce registration and $175 for failing to produce insurance. Furthermore he said the vehicle has to be seized! He said "I can't let you drive without reg & insurance; You could get into an accident and kill someone...and I've seen a lot of stolen high-end cars..." Said I could call a friend or a cab! Unbelieveable!!! WTF?? I realize the insurance & reg expired but it still has my name on it!

Ten mins later, a tow truck showed up and hitched up the X5. Luckily the driver was a nice guy and knew what he was doing. He knew it had to be loaded flat. So I took the cab home to get my reg & insurance and then to the impound lot to pick up the X5 which cost me another $110 to release and $50 for the cab! Luckily no damage to the vehicle during towing.

What a day!!!
