Pictures on the exhaust

OK, heres the pictures on my dirty modified X5.

I bought 2 pipes with look like the 4,6IS pipes. Cut those in perfect length. Velded on 2 2 inch pipes in 3 inch lenght on each silenser. Painted the back of the silenser and the inside of the crome pipes (so they look used) and monted them on the pipes.

Cost; 2 times 250 Norwegian kroners and 40 for the color. About 80 bucks

From a distanse it looks like a casolin car:

But close up, u can se this:

Sweet!! Are you going to put the flared arches on as well? And are the part numbers you mentioned the only ones needed to achieve that look?

Thx
No, the side steps are new an mounted by me. I didnt want the arches from the 4,8 because i belive the car looks even wider with those. I decided to stay with my 19" wheels and not the 20" 4,8 so there no meaning in creating a wider car. The only thing on the exterior I want to do now is 1/2" inch spacers on each wheel (exactly as wide as the car) and darken the windows.

The rest of the work will go to the interior. DVD, XBOX, LCD aso. In my last car I mounted the LCD in the headrest. I dont think this will be the solution on this car. Now Im looking for a bigger screen to mount in the seeling with buildt inn DVD player. And of course a XBOX 360

My old X5s headrests:

Sorry bozo

Didnt answer all your questions. Yes, you only need those 4 parts. I wanted the one WITH PDC an WITHOUT headlight washers, but got the reversed... I would love to see the war without those 4 ugly horns stikking up infront of the car. Is there any pictures outhere on the facelift without theese?

Am wanting to do something similar with the wife's 3.0d with the exhausts. Have you got any more detailed pics of under the car ???

I figure how you got the tips on there, but not sure how you re-routed the existing exhaust pipes from the silencer so that they come out the back of the silencer box rather than from around the front and under the silencer box ???

Got a friend who is handy with a welder so this looks like it is potentially much cheaper than buying an aftermarket pipe.

Thanks, Disco

It got me thinking .....

How hard would it be for me to add some 4.8 look-a-like exhaust ends on my X5. Can it be done easily?? It currently has the standard 4.4 round ends poking through the rear bumper.

I was thinking I could buy some oval extensions and have them welded on. Or am I over-simplifying things here.

OMG - this could be my first mod. I may be hooked.

I like your ingenuity Hosse. Well done.
