83k miles on '01 3.0 and no problems....I'm getting nervous...

I have a 2001 3.0 with 83,000 miles and I have had zero problems with it.....other than a finnicky final stage resistor...everything has been great. However, I'm getting worried about mechanical problems that might arise. I've heard people talk about CV boots, suspension problems, tranny failures, etc. and I'm getting very nervous. I have an extended warranty for drivetrain parts but everything is on my mind now. There are no bumps or strange noises while driving...just as solid as my 2003 Expedition with half the miles. But with all the talk of inevitable problems...I feel like it's just a matter of time before something major goes. It does have 83,000 miles but they have been probably 75% highway. Any thoughts on what I should check? Thanks for any input.

My '01 is a year old from when I bought it used - 19K I've put on it (61K overall) - ditto the final stage resistor, 1 window regulator - replaced the battery and water pump just as a safety measure - burned out most of my bulbs between 50K-53K - but so far so good - runs like a dream - am really luvin' it - 200K-300K is not unheard of - enjoy!

Whewww! That makes me feel much better, to know that others are trucking right along problem-free too. You just hear of so many problems and then you're almost "waiting" for something to go wrong with yours. Thanks for the uplifting and encouraging words.

Problems are the exception not the rule, reading forums you would think cars fell apart as soon as they were built.
