I installed the Dension icelink + adapter in the X5 this weekend and had to disconnect the battery. When I connected it (it was only off for a minute) I got a DSC warning light and the hill descent button were not working. The temperature gauge also went to red (engine was cold). I thought maybe I knocked a connector loose and pulled the side off the console and couldn't find anything. The seat warmers and PDC buttons were all working.
On the next ignition cycle the temperature gauge was normal, but still no DSC or hill descent. I put the car in reverse / drive and even moved it a few inches, but it stayed on. At this point I'm starting to get worried...
It wasn't till I actually drove the car that the warning light and HD button started working.
Is this normal when the battery is disconnected?

I expected the trip meter and clock to need to be reset, but the temp gauge, DSC and HD problem was a surprise.
(BTW, the Dension adapter is very nice... much better than the adapter I'm using in my truck)
