Daylights on, why?

Is there a way to turn the daylights off?

i prefer them on myself... much safer to drive on public streets that way...

on track, i have my lights on all the time.. same reason.. so that i am much more noticeable to others. and i get comments from other racers all the time on how noticeable i am because the lights are on...

If your car is new, there is no way they should be charging you for this...

If so, FIND A NEW DEALER ! Some BMW dealers are just crap, luck of the draw i guess...

I thought DRL's were initially made for mountain driving, where darker colored cars would blend in with their surroundings and often cause head on collisions during passing...

HHmmm, I like the ins. disc. deal, I will call them about that. The lights don't really bother me, I just don't see why we need them.

I had originally heard you could not get daylight running lights - then, when ordering my '06, I find out I could (Ya-a-ay, ins disc!) - now I am hoping the dealer can turn them on in my '01 when I get the parking brake adjusted/repaired in 2 weeks

I'm finding out alot comparing the '01 & '06

the '01 steering wheel automatically retracts when the ignition is turned off - something I'd like to get the '06 to do

I wonder if the new trunk pull cover is retrofitable to the early models?

I don't like the '06 headrest - will the older style fit? how?

the '06 is very good on mileage, but not the muscle car my '01 is

the '06 is too quiet (I see an exhaust mod in the future)

the type 63 wheels('01) are easier to keep clean than the type 132s('06)

If (when) I replace the '01 hood vents with Ti, both X5s will be virtually identical (to me, this is a good thing)

Sorry for wandering off topic
