Go with a remote installed radar detector imo. If youre ever pulled over for anything you will in all likelihood get a ticket if youve got a windshield mounted radar detector. I just bought a Beltronics Vector LR. I didnt feel the need for laser shifters as no one in my area uses laser and theyre defenseless at closer range. My chrome bull bar gives them a huge target to bounce a laser off of.

Love it, can't imagine using the V1 without it. Totally bummed that it probably won't work with the 2007 X5, because of I-Drive.
