Rim size

Anyone know if you can put 17 inch rims for the X and what kind of rim should i go, I have sport package and i want to get smaller rims and thicker profile tires to make the ride more smooth.. anyone try this before?

Of course you can get 17's... The X5 3.0 comes (or at least used to come) with standard 17's.

WTF? try replacing your tires with a high quality highway tire thats ultra smooth. If that doesnt work, sell the x5 and pick up a chevy tahoe.

Go for a different tire... Going back to 17's will make your X5 handle like crap. Well, not crap, but it will roll more in corners because the tires are bigger.

you can get OEM 17's on EBAy and others. But don't understand why. 17's with huge balloon tires looks awful and will handle even worse!

I think you are sorta conflicted: you asked a post ago, what bigger tire would fit on a 18 wheel in place of stock 255/18. Now, you ask if a 17 "fits" for smoother ride?
I'm done responding to your threads.
