strange problem

Today on way back from the UK Motorshow I had a very strange fault on the screen. The screen suddenly started flashing on and off and kept opening and closing the screen to get at the tape drive. In the flashes I noticed it retune the radio and would flash back to the sat nav. I stopped turned the car off and back on a few times but still the same. You could read at times the screen was being shut down because of the heat, the tape was stuck (there was no tape) along with moving the screen in and out and flashing on and off. You could not turn it off or stop it going in and out. This went on for about 45 mins on the rest of the journey home.

I turned it off for about 20 mins and all is now fine?

It was weird I am on v26 perhaps I ought to go for v27. Not sure what the garage will say about the software though?

Dont think version 27 will make any difference for your problem as it is main a nav update and if you do get it upgraded you want 27.1

It's not s/w related. Are you under warranty? Just shrug it off, if the problem doesn't return.

Yes it is under warranty and thye first service is coming soon. I will mention it then. THe only problem with shrugging it off is that when the screen was mucking around sometimes it made a slipping clutch type noise but sometimes a horrible graunching noise.

I have downloaded v27.1 but not yet put it on. I do not think it is anything to do with it but wondered if the dealer would complain that I had reprogrammed it and so it was my fault? I realise they will use any excuse.

Hopefully it has fixed itself
