I did that with my 05 using an 04 manual but I found there were some differences so i got an 05 manual. I wonder though if the electronic version of the 2006 is even out. I know the 05 manual wasn't online when I bought my X.

yes there were some changes between 2004 and 2005 models and manuals, but very little changes on 2006 e.g. alum rings with sports package etc. Nothing that should change the manual unlike between 2004 and 2005.
