tranny inspection

hi everyone just a little nervous for tomorrow when i bring in the x to have the tranny checked..2005 x 4.4 with 17k miles..like i explained earlier i drive to car mostly short trips thoughout the day and when the car sits for a few hours and i drive again the tranny wont shift from 1 to 2 until the car/tranny warms up even though the temp gauge is after the blue but before mid point..it did it this winter alot but i thought it was just due to the cold weather..it was quite cold in nyc this winter but now it is about 50 degrees in nyc...once car warms up appears everything is ok..even though it is still cpo just worried that the stealer will screw something up/...thanks rob

You're under CPO so i wouldn't worry about "screw-ups"...if such were to happen, you're still covered right? I'd be worried if i were out of warranty, without, even 3rd party coverage.

Which stealer are you having the X serviced?

Are you saying it won't shift out of 1st gear at all or is it that it holds the gear to a higher rpm or trans pressure before it shifts. All my BMW's exibit the latter when cold, its normal.

it will shift out of first once it is warmed up ..just initially it will stay in first gear when tranny is cold once tranny warms up it goes into 2 and works ok....what is weird is that lets say i use the car for a bit and then it stays parked for approx a few hours the same thing happens again until the tranny warms up...which i think is weird because the car has already been used during the day...i could see if it is very cold outside like it was this winter but now it is 45-50 degrees during the day i dont think it should do this after i have used the car on and off thoughout the day...
