production status?

I have a question about the production status of my x5.
I called the bmw owners circle and asked them. This is what they told me my car is supposed to start its production anywhere from may20 to june 1st.

How long does it take to build a car?
Since all the x5's are built in SC, after its done being built how long would it take for my dealership to recieve it? (I am from Bellevue, WA)

Basically how long does each step take? And anything else i need to know thank you..

Living in the Northwest, it took about 2 weeks from completetion, when the car is finished its shippped to oxnard, then is put on a train. Then goes to docking, then is put on a truck and sent to the dealer. Relistically expect the car 1 to 2 weeks after completed closer to 2 weeks. That's about how long it took mine. It just came in 4 days ago from an March build date. VERY MUCH WORTH THE WAIT!!

Mine has gone from 'On Order' to 'At preparation center' in less than 10 days. Though we are picking it up in SC so I am not sure about delivery. Seems very quick to me. My original SA told me it would take 4-6 weeks.
