Back to the dealer again on Monday (3rd time) for the front end. Already changed the steering rack and bushings. The play in the steering is gone but I'm pulling to the right on level roadways and on hard braking she pulls hard to the right. Steering wheel still jumps going over un-even seams or bumps, not as bad, but it still happens.
Any suggestions? Now on top of that my freakin cargo cover is rattling my brain. It seems to be in place nice and tight. It happens whether it's open or closed. I HATE RATTLES. Winter shoes go on tomorrow Rant over

Good rant! It does sound like there getting closer though. Curious to see
how it feels after they change the tires.

I feel your pain. Had troubles with my Adjustable leveling and they took forever to correct it. Also had the dealer paint and install my 4.8is kit; had to take it back twice and they still didn't fix the poor paint job. Freakin Crevier! I wonder how qualified a BWM tech is?
Rant Over !

Laura, you need an alignment, something they should have automatically done when replacing the parts that they did. The steering is bound to move a little over uneven surfaces. BMW makes a bit more direct so that you know what's goin on down there..but at the same time it shouldn't be pulling your arms a lot each way. Which bushings have they replaced? There's a lot of them down there.

Pull is almost always alignment so square that up and you should be OK, other causes are a lazy calipers or severely worn bearings and I don’t think that’s you. The Steering wheel jerking on bumps is a lateral support failure. Support arm bushing is top of the list followed by the control arms and tie rods. The pull could be from a bad bushing on either of those points as well but not as likely.
Good Luck ! |

Thanks Cleaner - thanks Vig. I'll report back next week. And yes, I do get good loaners. Always BMWs, last time was a 5, time before was an X3 with less than 5000K miles and before that a new 3
