What is the process for using overseas military sales if I am stationed in the CONUS? Is it available only while I am TDY overseas? Is there that much of a savings and do they ship back to the states?

You have to be TDY more than 30 days, but you need to have the car on your possession for more than 120 day to avoid paying import taxes in your state. I saved around $7,000.00 compare to the same model with the options I requested in the US, also BMW have a program that ship my X5 to a dealer close to my PCS location.

The REAL answer is yes. Although there are a few dealers who look "the other way". But you have to ask yourself is it worth buying a plane ticket and the rest...Savings? Hell yeah!....Although, the "higher" you go, the more you save off of MSRP. So you save a lot more on a 760i than a 325. Having said that, you can pick up a pretty nice spec'd Mini for well under than 20K. And BMW will ship back for a small fee, but if you're TDY or stationed here, its free....Put in for orders! LOL...

thanks for the replies. I won't be getting stationed overseas anytime soon. Maybe save my pennies and get an E70 over there in a couple years.

peace

Haha, I did think of your post as soon as I saw the prices.
