tire air loss issue odd one

Mon 9th had steering rack boots replaced (not related to my issue) and went to fill up with gas and usual check tires air pressure, all was good with the tires.

6 days later got the gong noise and the red exclamation on the dash low tire pressure. Visited nearest gas station , and one tire was at 1.1 bar and not the usual 2.2 i had it 6 days ago, so filled up to 2.2 went to nearest tire place and they could not locate a leak/nail or bad valve. Next day in about 24 hours pressure was down to 2.0 ie 0.2 bar drop (same air pump used) , went to another garage they checked all good no leaks. Went to a 3rd no leaks and not the valve...
Annoying thing is none of them dunked the wheel in water, not sure if they were lazy or how feasible it is....all i can think of is a cracked rim or the lip of the tire again the rim leaks (but soap sud test showed nothing)could it be that it either leak when the tire is at speed or changes temp? I am stumped

Needs to be over filled and dunked.

Well from busting tires back in the day I would suggest you check the valve stem because it'll bend over from centripetal force while driving and not show a leak otherwise.

If not that and you are running low profile then you have a cracked rim (hairline) opening under flex when driving.

Just my 1/2 cent

Overinflated and dunked as previously noted.
They will never see a leak that small if whatever it was that cause the puncture isn't there anymore.

Appreciate all the replies, nope not low profile 235/65 r17, the stem valve to eliminate will have it replaced, no idea why none of the places could be bothered to overinflate and dunk as stated earlier.....may have to do it myself....so a loss of 50% of tire air over the space of 5 or 6 days is not the type of puncture that would be visible by spraying with a water n washing up soap combo eh?

^Not always, and not nearly as reliable/quick as dunking. Did you pay the shops anything? Bring them the wheel loose or on the x5?

I agree with others here that the dunking method as being the best here. If you can't get anyone to dunk it, take a little dish washing detergent and water, mix it and slowly rotate the tire while spraying or pouring the solution on the valve stem and across the tread of the tire. It will begin to bubble when the air from the leak hits it. Add a little extra air beyond the required pressure, to exaggerate the leak. If you don't want to take the wheel off just have someone you trust slowly drive backwards or forward while you squirt the tire with the solution. Take your time and you will find it.

Agree to over inflate and tank it. Suggest 50-55 lbs. With small leaks it is often necessary to leave the tire in one place for a minute or so. Since the tire wasn't leaking before you checked the air pressure I would start with the entire valve stem.

Again thanks to all the posters here, am edging towards thinking it is the stem valve, and only when it is in motion as one person said and the forces are greater on the tire, the washing liquid and spray i have had 3 garages do it, 2 pairs of eyes peering over it as it was being sprayed and rotated...and I also did it myself....

I have a tank large enough to dunk it, worse comes to worse will take it off myself and dunk it and see after pumping up slightly higher....

X has a habit waiting for the holiday season to throw up surprises, last year was the starter
