Optimum Tire inflation pressure for 19" wheel/tires?

Hello all,
I just went to check my air pressure on my tires, and when I opened the driver side door was faced with a paragraph of different tire inflation information. Anyway, is it best to be at 32PSI on all four corners for optimum performance as stated on the door jam? I'm running 255/50R-19 front, 285/45R-19 rear Michelins with sport package, so 32psi seems low (to me) for such large tires?
Appreciate.
Cheers,
K

I found that when my air pressure was above 32 psi that I was getting a lot more trammeling (sp?). 30 to 32 psi seems to work best for me.

Makes sense to me, I will try 32 psi then.

Yes, i have also tested the pressure above 32psi but as UcrewX5 has mentioned, it was giving a lot of unwanted steer at low speeds.

I run all 4 at 32 and the car feels great, even on the horrible roads we have here in the Northeast. I check the tires every weekend--the air compressor in the garage makes it quick and easy.
