2003 x5 3.0D aero kit

Hi everyone,

I have a 2003 X5 3.0d model and I tried to add the aero kit from the local BMW dealer. They said that the aero kit doesn't apply to prior to 04 models. But searching the site I just saw photo of an 01 with the aero kit on. A bit confuzed here.

The car has PDC and front washers. There were two kit's mentioned on the BMW's on line computer but when checked for any the reply was that the front parts (front bumber, fenders and sides) do not fit. THe rear fender and wheel fenders are OK. Now how is that possible ?

I thought because a diesel model, but engine doesn't change anything on the body does it ?

Well thank you all for you time !!

Thats all a load of crap mate!!

There is an aero dynamic kit especially for the pre-facelift, the part numbers are

Front apron - 51 19 0 027 383
Side Skirts - 51 19 0 009 616
Rear wheel extensions - 51 19 0 009 617
Front wheel extensions - 51 19 0 027 385
Rear apron - 51 19 0 027 385

You also need the side runners - 51 71 0 017 315

If you want the side panels as well - 51 19 0 008 978

This kit is for the pre facelft with the Parking sensor and washers. They only do it for that from BMW and it will fit the 3.0D The only possible issue is the exhaust I am not sure if the back apron will fit with the downward facing exhausts, I do not see why not as the body kit apron is bigger than the stock one. If it is an issue you can get exhausts for the diesel that come out the rear like a 4.8,4.4 or 3.0i.

However I do suggest if you havent already that you search around before you decide there are lots of bodykit options out there for the X5. The only thing is you might need to change the exhaust but again there are loads of options in Europe or the US.

Absolutely Correct.

Back Apron = no problem. Stock Diesel exhaust pipes face down b4 reaching the apron. A kick-ass option is to get the REMUS exhaust pipes for the 3.0d (www.remus.at) they do come out the rear.
