Toyo proxies or Michelin Diamaris

I know I brought this subject up before but now I really need to order the new tires for my wifes X5 with 19's. The first set were Bridgestone Turanzas and they rode fine and currently we have the Michelin Diamaris on the X. I know the Toyo's are a good tire but some people have said that because you can't rotate the tires its better to go with Michelins. They say the Toyo's are directional and tend to feather more on the outside of the tire when you don't rotate them. Anybody have any long term experience with Toyo's on their X5?

Go for the Toyo's. My cousin has them, and I love them. When my stock tires go, I'll be getting them.

IMO, go with OEM.

Long term experience with Toyo's has been a headache for me. They get rather loud and I have had two sets. My first was replaced because of feathering with the tread. There is the new Michelin Latitudes that are all season tires in the 4.6/4.8 sizes.

How are the Michelin Latitudes? Are they better than the MXV4s?

I have about 10K miles on my Toyos and they howl like mudder tires at low speeds. The faster you go, the quieter they get. Definitely will look for something else next time.

At first I was going to go with the Toyos but because you can't rotate them I think that's what puts them out of the running. The Toyo's are great tires when you can rotate them with great tread wear and grip.

I guess I will have to go back to the Michelin's. Someone said that Costco sells them. I'll have to check it out.

different tires!

Mich. are summer tires and will stick to the road better that Toyo in warm weather.
Toyo's are allseason that are a good all around tire.
Mich. will suck and be hard below 40 degrees and dangerous in the snow.
Toyo will do fine in cold weather and get you home in the snow but they are not snow tires, so it depends on where you live and what you like to do.
I have had them both and like the flexability of the Toyo's since I do get cought in light snow in Oct and May when I do not have my Nokian snows on yet!
