my key doesn't seem to be charging cuz it's always dead and if I drive for an hour, the keyfob will work with 30 min only. Can I do a DIY fix with this problem?

doubt it, had the same problem with my 7, they just replaced it for me under warranty. i beleive the problem wasnt with a battery, but my service rep said it was a resistor that went bad.

Yeah there is a way to change the battery. A member on here did it and had pics and everything to show how. I can't remember but search and you'll find it...

Ditto alot of cars have that, my friends JAG keeps going through keys and mine has done it before, I say replace! I don't think you can change the battery like on more traditional fobs where you open it with a penny and replace the tiny battery

Not yet, those keys are harder to get ahold of than I though. He has his eyes open for one though. I did look at the key and it looks like it can not be taken apart, but I am not trying with the keys I have lol

Will post if I get one,

Andrew
