Wipers Stop Working Randomly, Any Ideas why?

Hi, anyone ever have this issue? The wipers just stop working. The only way to get them to work again is turn the car off and turn the wipers back on. Its very random and annoying. Could it be a fuse or relay?

Any ideas?

Thanks

Do you have rain-sensing wipers or are you speaking of when the wipers are in lo/ hi??

They don't have the rain sensor. The wipers could be turned on I come to a stop at a light then they turn off. I can't turn them back on at any speeds again. Only way is to pull over, turn the car off then back on. That will get the wipers started again.

Hmm well it is a feature on BMW cars for the wipers to slow the wiping speed when you come to a stop.

Seems like some module that makes the wipers slow down when your stopped is failing...

It's possible that it could be caused by the condition referenced in this article - http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/x5/m...wiper-fix.html

Thanks for the article. I checked my bolts and they were still tight. Must be something electrical then.
