Sunroof drain pipe
Question: Does the sunroof drain pipes (left and right) run through the A pillars? How easy it to to get to them. I am guessing there is a crimp in the drain (tried vaccuming it but no luck, the pipe seems to be somewhere tight shut). Any pointers would be appreciated. Need to find the crimp..need to find the crimp! need to find the crimp!!

Mickey,
Compressed air from an air hose will blow the clog outta the drain tube. I had the same problem on my VW Jetta...only the driver's footwell filled with three gallons of water. Scott

Thanks Scott. Found the issue. It was the A-pillar trim. The trim has a big bad plastic piece that crimps the pipe over time. I had to reposition the drain pipe behind the trim and all is well now. Also the drain pipe that attaches to the sunroom assembly was a little loose too (had to get to it via the headliner)

This is so common in every sunroof equipped vehicle, I'm surprised engineers haven't come up with a better way.
