Fuel guage reading not accurate

I was told one of the fuel sensor malfunction and ithe fuel guage does not reflect the fuel level correctly.
Is there any simple way to fix it? lubricate the fuel sensor or replace them?
How to access the fuel senor? from the trunk? any relevant is highly appreciated !! Thanks in advance
