remote tailgate button-Disconnect

I seem to frequently and inadvertantly press the remote tailgate button on the key fob. Is there any way to disconnect this feature?

Thanks

I think an easy fix to try first, would be to open up the remote key, put a bit of insulating tape over the terminal where there the button for the boot would touch.

you can have the dealer change the feature set. you will be required to unlock the car before the tailgate will open.

this also prevents you from locking your keys in the trunk since the entire car is unlocked

My dealer stated this feature could not be deactivated from remote key. Don't know if this is accurate or not.

not deactivated.

what they do is, they require you to UNLOCK the car before the trunk release will be allowed to work.

the trunk release button will not open the trunk unless the entire car is unlocked. otherwise, it will be ignored if the car is locked/alarmed is armed.

The problem is I accidentally press this button while starting the car, it's already unlocked, then I get the message "tailgate open". How would one open the key fob, I don't see any screws?
