i have had a problem with this issue and it seems like this is getting worse. sometimes when i am at a red light or do a rolling stop and press the gas it seems like there is a big thump from the back and it feels like i just got rear ended. it only happens when i am at a red light or when i try to take off. does anyone know what the problem could be?

Is your spare wheel and tools all secure in the boot?? Also check that you NAV OR CD is secured correctly. Try that first!

Is it a rattle or tranny related?

From reading other posts here, this seems to be a very sommonproblem. I had the same issue -It felt like getting rear-ended, I also had problems with surging/searching between gears.
Reproramming DME software solved it completely for me - here is the link to my post and the info from the dealer on the workorder.

Agree. Just had the latest version, v.23, and no more backlash. High end is more powerful and crisp. Low end better. Be sure and do reset after you get it back with ignition.
