How Much Noise?

How much of noise are you fellas willing to tolerate in your X?

Like how silent is a 'silent/quiet' ride? When I ride my car I keep hearing the trunk's cover (that leather thing keeps creaking), mild noises from the arm rest and one seat or another.

But what if I'm also hearing very faint creaks when I am about to start an incline like on a speed bump or something from where the front tires would be? Would this be an indication that my suspension is giving away or is it normal that the car says 'something' at the very least?

I am just posting this to kind of get an idea as to what noises ticks off members around here

Really depends on the use of the vehicle. If you use a vehicle constantly for year, it doesn't matter how well built it is...you will hear creaks and groans.

IMO it is a personal choice on what you can tolerate.

It bugs the ever living sh*t out of me. I'm a college student who made some very nice stock investments which turned out to be gold so I was able to purchase an X5. Then, when I drove it off the lot the dumb drivers side door started making wind noise at high speeds, needless to say I was pissed off after paying what I did. Of course it took 3 weeks to fix as they couldn't determine where it was coming from etc.. Many say that its a SUV so expect some noise well my fathers Porsche Cayenne is very silent and thats what I expect from my X5.

Got to say I'm well please with mine! I dont have anything in any of the storage compartments or trunk, I had the rear trunk/boot lid fixed so there is no rattles from there, and I have yet to hear any noise from anywhere else!

Mine is 2 years old, and no noise from anywhere. I have been very happy with it so far.

I was testing an '02 Mustang couple of months ago with only 11,000 miles on it, and it was squeaking like crazy, couldn't stand it!
