How do you use the NAPA Rivet Gun?

A friend of mine got one and he's clueless on how to use it for the plastic rivets. Any advice?

The gun should have come with instructions(it is the gun that is designed for plastic rivets, right?). Having said that, here's how it's done:

1. Stick the thin end of the rivet into the hole in the gun
2. Stick the thick end of the rivet into hole on the item being secured
3. Squeeze handle on rivet gun

Just practice on one, it's very simple. You can't really go wrong.

Incidentally, does anyone have the BMW part number for the rivets? My friend is installing 4.6/4.8 fender flares which he got used and came without them of course. Thanks.

Thanks for the help. Yup that's the expanding rivet alright. I'll relay this info. By the way, did you mean #5?

#5 is shorter and thicker than #6,
if I remember correctly, I used #5 to secure side skirts, and #6 for fender flares/arches when I installed running board.

please check page 7 and 8
