Help...4.8 or stay with the 4.4?

OK I have a 2002 Fully Loaded 4.4 X5. It is a CPO car and I've already been hit with a brake job($900)...radio replacement($500)...and a few little items which were covered under warranty. The car has about 63K miles on it..and I'm thinking about upgrading to a 2006+ or newer car. I found a nice 2006 X5 with 10K miles 4.8 with NAV (CPO)....I need some opinions here whether I should wait till early next year and look for a 4.8 or possibly look at the new 4.8's(which I'm not sure if I like the new body style). Please share your opinions...I'm looking to change out the 4.4 for something which will give me full warranty and full maintanence for the next 4 years....

Not a 2007 guy myself as yet. IMHO, would love a 4.8.

Wait for the new model. Just had a go in a development one in Germany. The 4.8 engine is the greatest. Sounds fantastic, better than Viagra. The body ain't too bad, just a bit different.

My vote would be to wait a bit on the new model.

I would go for the 2006 4.8. You'll get the warranty with 'proven' technology and less kinks. My guess is that all the new tech on the 07's will be a nightmare for the first year or two. Save yourself some headaches and go for the 06. That's my .02 worth.

Wait for the new model. It's a much improved ride with lots of useful and high tech features. Also, it will look current for the next several years.

The 4.8 is a great vehicle and I love driving it. I would get the current model (2005 or 2006).
