How to open Xenon headlights?
I'm about to install Angel Eyes to my -02 X5. I have started my work by following to these instructions: http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/x5/l...placement.html I'm stuck with the Xenon's. How do I remove the Xenon's from the actual headlight cover? There are some torks bolts but 'cause I haven't found any instructions from anywhere I rather ask than break up my car... So my question is that what are the steps on removing the xenon unit from headlight cover. Thanks in advance. (and I'm sorry about my english. I'm from Scandinavia) |

remove all torx screws... there are some hidden screws, I think 6, embedded in the silicone. Once all the torx are removed the bulb can just be removed by turning the lock nut counter-clockwise. The bulb will just come out. Hope this helps

Thanks it worked and I managed to open passenger side and installed the angel eyes.
But when we went to driver side... Aarrgghh.. The previous owner had changed the driver's side headlight and it's produced 2002/10 so it contains the new clue... Now I have angel eyes at passenger side and normal lights at driver's side.. Does anyone know where to buy year 2002 headlights? 'cause now it's kind of funny looking because they don't look the same

How to make a angel eye modification to year-2003 lights (solution)
Hi,
I have now accomplish my modification for my x5. My mission was to install Angel eyes to year 2002 X5. Unfortunately after I'd made the modification to passenger side light I found that driver's side light was manufactured at 2003 (the previous owner perhaps had crashed or something else... 'cause the light was changed). So with my brother we were trying to watch for ebay to buy 2002-lights with no luck. After few days we decided to go-on with this year 2003-light. We bought a heatgun and Epox-glue and a sharp knife. We cut out the front part of the light and made the modification. After that used the epox-glue to make the parts together and after the glue had became dry tried it and it's like a new! The glue says that it carries 150kg/cm2 (around 50 lb/square inch) and even that I don't know if that's true it's definitely enough tough stuff 'cause we couldnt take those parts apart again. So now I have a working set of angel-eyes with one light from year 2003. |
