Replacing flasher bulb
X5 2001 Flasher Bulb - Does anyone know how to replace the bulb for the front flasher (the one in the light cluster not the one on the side of the car). I cannot get access from the engine compartment. It looks like you have to remove the wheel and the wheel well cover. This seems extreme for a bulb replacement. Help!

Check the home page for my Halogen/Xenon swap article. You need to pop 4 screws in the engine compartment at the back of the light unit and slide the unit out.

Thanks! The article on the home page gave me everything I needed and it took me no more than 10 mins to replace the bulb.

That's what I keep telling everyone. 4 bolts, 10 minutes tops. Glad it helped.

The article says this is for '04+ X5's. Has anyone tried this on an earlier model. I have a '01 X5 and need to replace the passenger side turn signal bulb, but not wanting to pay shop $150 to change a $2 bulb.
If I don'thear back, I'll try to see if this works on my X5 this weekend and post back if it worked or not. Thanks! |
