Angry Open rear hatch and drip, drip, drip!

Man I am getting tired of wiping up the water from the rear door that falls on the tailgate and my head every time I get the groceries out, or the luggage, etc. Tonite I removed the 4 torx screws holding the liftgate handle on. Seems like the foam gasket behind it is all saturated with water and does not appear too sturdy. One of the lights on the edge there was completely corroded from water entering the housing. What I can't figure out is how the water got in there to start with. It must drip down somehow from the rear window fitting into the rear hatch......

Anyone else have this issue?
